Databases
Online databases provide access to thousands of magazine and newspaper articles. Below is a list of several resources which may help with research in advertising. There are others. If you aren't sure which database to use, contact a reference librarian.
Please note: To access these databases from off campus, you need a valid STCC I.D. card with a current library barcode on the back. For more assistance, contact the library reference desk at 755-4549.

Academic Search Premier (EBSCO)
- general database covering many areas in the life sciences. Articles are generally if not always full text, and many are in .PDF.
Expanded Academic ASAP (INFOTRAC) Academic journals indexed, with some full text articles included.
Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe Use this for the full text of articles from national and international newspapers, in English as well as in Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Dutch. Get transcripts from NPR and some PBS and CNN programs, and even legal and medical materials.
CQ Researcher In-depth articles on "hot" research topics.
Issues & Controversies Hot issues examined from multiple viewpoints.
WorldMark Encyclopedia of Religious Practices - detailed information on worldwide religious practices, emphasizing how religion impacts the daily lives of its followers.
