OPRAH'S BOOK CLUB

Maybe we've blogged this before, but did you know that every time Oprah recommends a book to her book club, libraries across the nation get free copies? The STCC library usually gets at least two copies of every book she recommends. In 1996, Oprah's Book Club partnered with the American Library Association (ALA) to distribute thousands of free Book Club selections, donated by the publisher, to school, public and community college libraries nationwide.

The latest is Say You're One of Them by Ewen Akpan Oprah's site provides lots of book club tools for anyone reading the books she's selected. We got The Story of Edgar Sawtelle when that was added to Oprah's shelf of titles.
