America's Best Idea

This Sunday marks the debut of a new PBS series by Ken Burns, "The National Parks: America's Best Idea." In conjunction with the series, National Parks and sites across the country are participating in a day-long celebration on Saturday. The Springfield Armory National Historic Site (which shares the grounds with STCC) will offer a presentation on the 391 National Historic Sites in the U.S. and allow visitors to choose from a collection of films about various National Parks, including Cape Cod National Seashore, Augustus Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site, and Civil War battlefields.

The event runs from 9:30 to 4:30 and the best part is, it's absolutely free.
