I LOVE MY LIBRARIAN
For the third year in a row, the New York Times (which we consider the Newspaper of Record of the United States) and the Andrew Carnegie Corporation is sponsoring an I LOVE MY LIBRARIAN contest. You can nominate YOUR favorite librarian by going to this link
and completing the nomination form for the librarian or librarians YOU think should be recognized.
There are separate categories for nominees. There are links to complete a form for Public Librarians, School Librarians or Media Specialists, and College, Community College or University Librarians.
Up to 10 librarians will be selected. Each will receive a $5,000 cash award, a plaque and a $500 travel stipend to attend an awards ceremony and reception in New York, hosted by The New York Times in December. In addition, a plaque will be given to each award winner's library.
Nominees will be judged by a selection committee based on quality of service to library users, demonstrated knowledge of the library and its resources and commitment shown in helping library users.
This is your chance to tell us YOUR story about why you want to celebrate your public, school, college, community college or university librarian. Nominate your librarian for the Carnegie Corporation of New York/New York Times I Love My Librarian Award! You have until October 9, 2009 to do it.
