Saluting Nurses!

Today is National Nurses Day, the kickoff to National Nurses Week which is celebrated through May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale. The library has a book display in honor of nurses, which includes books on Nightingale and on nursing history, and books on the practice of nursing as varied as Spirituality in Nursing: Standing on Holy Ground, Forensic Nurse: The New Role of the Nurse in Law Enforcement, and Men in Nursing: History Challenges and Opportunities. Remember that books from our displays are available for loan!

If you can't stop by the library right now, you might want to look at our Nursing Research Guide. In addition to information on the library's print materials on nursing, the research guide also points the way to online resources such as the nursing and allied health databases CINAHL with full text and other databases of articles on health and nursing. There also is a page listing recommended Web sites, including those of nursing associations, sites providing career information, online nursing journals, and many other useful sources of information. Keep on scrolling down the page - there's lots there!
