More on campus bird life

Dean Robert Dickerman, of the school of math, science and engineering transfer, tells me he was walking on campus one day last week when he saw a heap of some white substance under a tree. On investigation, he found the remains of a digested pigeon (we have a fair number of raptors who use our campus as a sort of automat) . These remains included a leg band complete with number.

So, Dr. Dickerman used his computer to find that this pigeon had been banded by the Perry Racing Club of Millerstown, PA in 2006! Talk about who is coming for dinner!

Information on the raptors can be found at the Raptor Center at the University of Minnesota
