Books! Books! Books!

We got a phone call last week, asking if the library had ordered a box of Italian books. It turns out that the library hadn't ordered them. Our colleague, Italian professor Erica Walch, had gotten in touch with the Coccia Foundation. Their vision states: The Coccia Foundation will be known and recognized as a premier supporter through programmatic partnerships with educational institutions, students/emerging adults, Italian Student Organizations, Italian/Italian-American organizations nation-wide. The generous folks at the Coccia Foundation sent us 20 books! For free!

Among the books we received were:
April Blood: Florence and the Plot against the Medici
Grandmother Said it Best: A Treasury of Italian Proverbs
La Storia: Five Centuries of the Italian American Experience
Italy Today: At the Crossroads of the New Millenium

Strega Nona, Her Story
Crazy in the Kitchen: Food, Feuds and Forgiveness in an Italian American Family
and
L'Isola del Giorno Prima
And, as they say on television, wait...there's more! The books we got from the Coccia Foundation are "almost ready for prime time." We'll have many of them in our new books area soon.
