Just because you are scared of technology, it doesn't mean you SHOULDN'T be scared....
The Associated Press published an article today about viruses appearing when you plug a new gadget into your PC. Items range, according to author Jordan Robinson, from your Ipod to that digital picture frame you just bought.
Robinson says it's largely lax quality control, such as an infected gadget in a Chinese factory being plugged into a testing computer, not organized sabotage. This sloppiness is certainly familiar to American consumers, especially when products come from Asia.
Robinson also notes that there may also be serious hacking or sabotage going on in these factories, which could compromise passwords, gaming access, etc. Security experts say some viruses can disable protective software.
