Get Peel Magazine

Apparently Peel, an art/graffiti/stickers/stencil title, costs $64.00 for four issues. Only one library in the entire world is listed in our Worldcat database as a subscriber. Given our materials budget, we will consider it for next year. The book, Peel: The Art of the Sticker by Dave and Holly Combs, is coming out in February. It is half stickers, and the library generally doesn't buy "disposable" items.

Update books on the brain

Thank you for pointing this out. Our most recent book on the brain is from 1994 and we will certainly get newer items. If you have specific recommendations, pass them along, please.

I actually think you guys are doing a real job here, but I think the library could use some heat. It's cold in here.

We appreciate the kind words. It’s true that our facility temperature can be erratic. We have little control over it, though our new windows do help. I hope you noticed we have new windows! It's generally warmer on the first floor away from the elevator, and on the second floor as close to the blowers as possible. We recommend wearing layers, too.

Longer hours/More computer time.

We would love to open earlier, but staff retirements with only one replacement make that difficult. If we get more staff, we will revisit this. Computer time IS limited so that everyone who needs access has a chance to use library computers. If you are a student here, and using a library computer to work on a paper, complete an application or other similar activities, you can check with a reference librarian, who may decide to extend your time beyond the daily ninety minutes to which you are entitled. Visitors are strictly limited to thirty minutes a day.
