Talk about eating your words!

This morning on NPR's local station, WFCR, I heard about freerice.com. It's a site developed by a dad to help his children improve their vocabularies in preparation for the SATS. For those of you with high school students at home, or if you are teaching a class that asks students to practice vocabulary building, this site is a home run!

The inventor has linked it to the United Nations, so that for every word that's defined correctly, 20 grains of rice are donated to hungry people throughout the world. If you want the story from NPR, here's the link ... You'll need your speakers!

Count yourself in and define a few words...you'll be helping hungry people AND improving your vocabulary.
